Lavina Bianca (Weißlahnbad) is characterised by its tranquillity and idyllic location and is surrounded by dense forests, clear mountain streams and wide alpine meadows. Thanks to its good connections to the “Carezza” hiking and skiing area, as well as its proximity to well-known excursion destinations such as the Sciliar (Schlern) and the Alpe di Siusi (Seiser Alm), the area offers ideal conditions for summer and winter tourism.

The municipality of Tires is located in the posterior area of the Tires valley. About half of the municipal territory is located in the nature park Scilar-Catinaccio. Since the end of the 1980s, the main access road to Tires has led from the village of Prato all’Isarco to the Isarco valley via Fiè di Aicha. In addition, Tires can be reached over the Passo di Costalunga and the Passo del Niger. The village itself is located at 1.028m above sea level on the right hand-side of the valley. The community of Tires also includes the districts of S. Cipriano and Lavina Bianca, where gentle tourism prevails. The skiing areas of the Alpe di Siusi and Latemar-Obereggen are in proximity. Moreover, this area is particularly suitable for winter walks, snowshoe hikes and tobogganing.

Since February 2022, the new aerial cableway connects the Tires valley with the Carezza Dolomites ski and the Catinaccio hiking area. The municipality of Tires is therefore the perfect starting point for various outdoor activities during summer and winter.
